BlackSea Technologies has appointed Mike Kushin to its Board of Directors. A veteran leader with more than three decades of experience in cybersecurity, electronic warfare, and space solutions, Kushin brings a proven record of delivering mission-critical capabilities for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.

BlackSea Technologies is proud to participate in Operation Southern Spear, a key initiative led by U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and U.S. 4th Fleet. This operation integrates Robotic and Autonomous Systems (RAS) into the U.S. Southern Command Area of Responsibility (USSOUTHCOM AOR). BlackSea is contributing two critical assets: the 16-foot Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) GARC, designed for reconnaissance and operational support, and Oceanus VI, a 162-foot Mission Support Vessel, essential for providing logistical support in extended maritime operations.

BlackSea Technologies has been named one of the first certified training providers for AUVSI’s new Trusted UMS Operator Program. As a key contributor to the development of this national training standard, BlackSea brings deep expertise in scaling uncrewed maritime systems (UMS) training for real-world military operations.

BlackSea Technologies, a leader in the development of innovative maritime systems and mission solutions for the defense and intelligence communities, will feature its groundbreaking small, Unmanned Surface Vehicle (sUSV), the Global Autonomous Reconnaissance Craft (GARC), at SOF Week 2025. The event takes place May 5–8 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL.

BlackSea Technologies had the honor of hosting Rear Admiral Ryan Perry, U.S. Navy Chief of Information, at its Fort Lauderdale location as part of the Navy’s Executive Engagement Visit (EEV) program.
