USVs
Our Global Autonomous Reconnaissance Craft (GARC) uncrewed surface vessels are built for high-speed performance and reliable operation in demanding maritime environments. With thousands of operational hours and a production line capable of delivering 32 platforms per month, these craft combine proven durability with the scale and support needed for real-world deployment.
Marine Aircraft Design
BlackSea has developed preliminary designs for seaplanes and Wing-In-Ground effect vehicles, supporting manned and unmanned delivery of personnel, equipment, and sensors. We also developed an aircraft-deployable emergency life raft pod, engineered to AS9100 standards and fielded by Sikorsky for international rotary-wing applications.
Buoys
BlackSea has designed, constructed, and tested at-sea numerous buoys for military and commercial use. Buoy work includes buoys smaller than 0.5 meters for meteorological applications, high endurance buoys with onboard power generation, spar buoys up to 120 meters, and advanced buoys including low water plane area designs.
Tethered Parafoils
Our ram-air parafoil systems, including the TALONS platform, enable sensor and communication payloads to be elevated up to 1,500 feet from small or large vessels. These systems extend line-of-sight capabilities without the need for tall masts, and have been proven through repeated at-sea testing.
Aluminum Vessel Production
With inspiration from our headquarters, located at the Fairfield Shipyard in Baltimore, Maryland, BlackSea Technologies is one of the highest-quality aluminum vessel fabricating facilities in the United States. Our team brings decades of hands-on expertise in aluminum fabrication, with deep proficiency in both MIG and TIG welding techniques. Our state-of-the-art facilities, equipped with cutting-edge technology, allow us to produce aluminum vessels of exceptional quality, strength, and durability. From aerospace to commercial vessel construction, our diverse range of high-grade aluminum products caters to a wide spectrum of industries, delivering solutions that exceed expectations.

Software
BlackSea Technologies extends its maritime engineering excellence into the realm of software development, focusing on robust, mission-critical applications that enhance the performance and interoperability of maritime systems. Key areas of expertise include:
Embedded Software Development
Designing and implementing real-time embedded systems tailored for maritime platforms, ensuring optimized performance, low-latency responsiveness, and mission reliability.
Integration with Third-Party Autonomy Software
Seamlessly incorporating autonomy frameworks and behaviors from external providers, enabling rapid deployment and customization for mission-specific use cases.
Command and Control (C2) System Integration
Integrating with existing C2 systems—whether government or commercial—to ensure full operational compatibility and a unified operational picture without duplicating core command infrastructure.
Payload Integration
Proven experience integrating EO/IR sensors, communications payloads, passive sensors, and specialized maritime packages, enabling multi-mission adaptability across platforms.
Adoption of Open Architecture
Leveraging open standards and modular software design to ensure future-proofing, system interoperability, and rapid integration of new components across diverse vendors and mission sets.
Launch and Recovery
The US Navy needed an unconventional launch and recovery system for 11-meter RHIBs, Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs), the Remote Multi-Mission Vehicle, and other organic assets on the Independence Class Littoral Combat Ship. BlackSea Technologies successfully designed, built, installed, and exhaustively tested at-sea, an advanced and unprecedented launch and recovery system, the Twin Boom Extensible Crane (TBEC).
Taking autonomy a step further, BlackSea designed systems to launch and recover an unmanned underwater vessel (UUV) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from an unmanned surface vessel (USV).
We recently developed a system to conduct at-sea refueling of USVs. This technology enables safe remote fueling of USVs in Sea state 3+ without spillage, and without a sailor aboard the USV. This also provides the ability to fuel USVs at the mission site, thus releasing the host platform to conduct independent missions.
