Admiral Roughead Visits BlackSea Technologies as Company Expands Production to Meet Growing Demands
BlackSea Technologies recently welcomed Admiral Gary Roughead, former Chief of Naval Operations, for a tour of the company's expanded production facilities, highlighting its strengthened capabilities to meet growing demands for advanced unmanned systems.
A 1973 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Admiral Roughead served for 38 years, including as Chief of Naval Operations from 2007 to 2011 and Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet from 2005 to 2007. He has long been a strong advocate for a robust defense industrial base, emphasizing the critical role it plays in supporting the U.S. Navy's evolving needs. During his visit, BlackSea leadership briefed the Admiral on the company’s efforts to scale production and meet the increasing demand for high-performance unmanned systems.
The visit coincided with a significant expansion of BlackSea Technologies' production capacity, which included the opening of a new facility dedicated to large-scale manufacturing. With the addition of over 100 new employees, BlackSea has rapidly ramped up production of its flagship Global Autonomous Reconnaissance Craft (GARC) and other advanced systems. This expansion is part of BlackSea's ongoing commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions for contested maritime environments.
We were honored by his visit and are proud to contribute to this cause: delivering resilient, scalable, and mission-ready systems that support the U.S. military's readiness.
